For the first time, the FIFA football World Association has created and published a guideline for the club licensing for women.
This made FIFA known on Friday.
This means that “the professionalization and development of women’s football on the Club Level” will continue to be pushed further.
“The development of strong and sustainable leagues in which players play in a professional competitive environment is a key area for the future development and professionalization of women’s football,” said the senior FIFA commissioner Sarai Bareman.
The publication, which is directed to all 211 member associations of FIFA, contains a ten-stage guide that the associations can follow in the establishment of a club licensing system.
Another eight steps should enable the leagues to maintain the appropriate seasonal base structures.
