Keeping your game in Dying Light 2
Dying Light 2 uses an automatic saving system to register your progress as you advance in the game.
This is activated quite often during missions, usually once you have completed an objective or you have finished seeing a scene. In general, we discovered that the game did a solid job by keeping our progress with sufficient regularity so that there is no remarkable loss of progress.
To try to “Force” the automatic saving, you can also press Options in PS5, Menu on Xbox or ESC on PC and then select “Exit the game”.
Can you manually save your game?
Unfortunately, no, there is no option to manually save your game in Dying Light 2, at least within the configuration.
The best way we have encountered to activate an automatic saving is to quickly travel to a location on your map or sleep on a bed until the next day / night phase. By doing this, you are forcing a major change in the game, so a saving will be activated.
Then, you can go out and take a break, or just continue with your adventure knowing that your saved file is updated.
